Our Story

In late September 2016, Jacob and Keziah moved to the Bega Valley with a plan and aim to plant a new church on the Sapphire Coast / Bega Valley. Their vision was to bring an influence for the gospel in every town and village across the Valley. After relocating, Jacob and Keziah connected with other local church leaders and, after discussions, decided to wait six - twelve months before planting a new church.

In April 2017, Resonate Ministries was born with a vision 'to amplify the gospel in a new sound'.
It was early in 2017 when the Board of Bega Valley Christian Life Centre approached Jacob and Keziah and offered them the opportunity to take over the recently vacated role of Senior Pastors. After a week of praying this through, Jacob and Keziah accepted this position and merged their church plant plans with the history and heart of Bega Valley Christian Life Centre. 

It was exciting to launch small groups, known as Micro Churches. The purpose of Micro Church is to meet in a relaxed environment where we are encouraged to grow in relationship with God and with one another.

The former church, Bega Valley Christian Life Centre had a history of renting various venues over its three decades of existence. Jacob believed that God wanted him 'to put a stake in the ground' in the Sapphire Coast / Bega Valley area, and purchase property. To his knowledge, no Pentecostal Church had ever owned its own venue in this region.

The Resonate Church Board pursued a building which had previously been the Bega Presbyterian Church premises.
After speaking with various financial lenders, it became clear that the church had a shortfall of $40, 000 in order to meet the deposit and associated costs.

Praying it through and believing that the purchase was on God’s heart, Jacob launched a '$40K in 40 days' campaign.
This was a huge step of faith as the church, at this stage, had a very small congregation. We witnessed the Lord's favour and blessing as $45,000 was raised.

Resonate Music is the recording/creative arm of the church's Worship Team. Keziah is a gifted songwriter and Resonate Church has a remarkably large number of talented musicians. The team released their first single in December 2017 - Greater, and their debut album in December 2019 - I Will Praise.
The heart of Resonate Music is to be able to create music that reaches peoples' heart and soul with the life-changing reality of Jesus and His Love.

At the end of 2017, Christopher and Prudence Clarke moved to the Narooma area  with a vision of planting a new church.  During 2018 Chris and Prudence established their family into the community and in 2019 officially held their first public gathering of Resonate Church, Narooma.
